Sassa Grants payment dates for 2025

South African nationals who qualify can get financial aid from SASSA (South African Social Security Agency) in the form of various grants. In order to support needy families and vulnerable individuals, SASSA award payments are normally distributed on a monthly basis. For the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, payments are typically processed in the last week of each month. For January 2025, SRD grant payments are scheduled between 25 January and 31 January 2025. Beneficiaries are advised to check their payment status on the official SASSA SRD website to confirm the exact date their funds will be available.

It’s important to note that SASSA grant amounts were increased in October 2024. The current grant amounts are:

Older Persons Grant: R2,190 (R2,210 for beneficiaries aged 75 and above)
Disability Grant: R2,190

Care Dependency Grant: R2,190
Foster Care Grant: R1,180
Child Support Grant: R530

Beneficiaries are reminded that there is no need to withdraw funds immediately on the payment date, as the money will remain in their accounts until needed. Additionally, SASSA gold cards remain valid beyond December 2023, and payments can be accessed at various supermarkets or directly into bank accounts.
