How Long Does It Take To Get Nsfas Allowance Application 2024/2025
Applicants of Nsfas should note that it will take a while to hear from Nsfas after the successful submission of the application. After Nsfas receives your application, it goes under review which is why it is needful to upload only certified documents during the application process. Nsfas officials will go through your documents to see if truly you are eligible. After which you will receive information prior to the start of the academic year by SMS, email, and your myNSFAS account.
It will take about four to six weeks to receive responses from Nsfas. For the academic year 2024/2025, the allowances are paid to students during the first week of each month over a period of 10 months. Amounts indicated for accommodation, living allowance, transport and learning materials need to be aligned with the approved latest DHET guidelines. If you have applied and still haven’t heard anything from Nsfas, there is a method that can be used to check the status of your application.
