MyNsfas Personal Details: mynsfas Status Check

Current students and applicants for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) are both strongly advised to open their own MyNSFAS accounts. Prior to applying for NSFAS financial support, applicants must provide the NSFAS account with their personal information.
You must first create your own account in order to use MyNSFAS to access the NSFAS online application procedure. Visit www.nsfas.org.za to do this. This is the NSFAS official webpage. To establish your own online account after opening the website, follow these steps:

Document Needed when creating MyNsfas

Below is the personal detail you need to provide when creating the MyNsfas account. Get started by creating a new account.

  • Type in first names (as per ID number)
  • Type in Surname (as per ID number)
  • Type in your ID number (will your username)
  • Type in your own Email address
  • Type in your own Cellphone number
  • Accept terms and conditions Tick the box provided, to allow NSFAS to check the information provided (compulsory)
  • Create a Password, To (protect your account)

ID numbers, Names and Surnames are validated against the Department of Home Affairs database. Only valid South African ID information will be accepted.

 

How do I create a myNSFAS account?

  • Log onto www.nsfas.org.za and click on the myNSFAS tab.
  • Click on register. Tick on the acceptance option to allow NSFAS to verify and validate the information you provided.
  • Type in your ID number as it appears on your ID document.
  • Type in your name and surname as they appear on your ID Document.
  • Type in your email address and cellphone number. Your username will be your email address.
  • Create a password and confirm your password.
  • Upload a copy of your ID.
  • Click on register.
  • After clicking register, One Time Pin (OTP) will be sent to the email address and cellphone number you provided.
  • Check your cell phone and email for the OTP.
  • Type in the OTP in the tab provided and click submit.
  • You will then receive another SMS and email confirming that your myNSFAS account has been created. You may now continue with your application. mynsfas Status Check
