The South African government developed the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) to provide students with financial assistance for the cost of enrollment, tuition, and allowances for books, food, transportation, and accommodation. For consideration for the 2024 NSFAS Bursary, students who meet the requirements may submit applications to the University of Zululand UNIZULU.

University Of Zululand Documents Required By NSFAS 

Before attempting to submit an application for funding, make sure you have certified and genuine copies of the following documents:

• Your South African identity card or birth certificate in its entirety (if you are younger than 16 years old).
• ID of the guardian or parents (or death certificate where applicable)
• Pay advice, employment letters, and pension advice that detail income (SASSA slips are not required and SASSA should not be included as household income).
• a consent form that has been filled out and signed by your parent or legal guardian, which you may get here. Applications won’t be approved and will be deemed incomplete if they don’t include a consent form signed by everyone whose income was disclosed in the application.
• Please download the Handicap Annexure A from www.nsfas.org.za, fill it out, and include it with your application if you have a disability.

Who May Apply University Of Zululand NSFAS

You are a South African citizen enrolling at this institution with a household income of R350k or less. NSFAS money, however, has not been approved for you for 2023. You have never before applied for NSFAS aid, but you are a resident of South Africa with a household income of R350 000 or less and enrollment at this Institution. If you wish to enroll at a public university or TVET institution in 2023 and you are a South African citizen with a family income of R350k or less, you will need financial aid.

Furthermore, in addition to the postgraduate qualifications stated below, you may apply since you already hold an undergraduate degree, diploma, or postgraduate degree.

TO APPLY ONLINE THROUGH WWW.NSFAS.ORG.ZA USING A CELLPHONE, TABLET, AND COMPUTER, FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS:

• Select the “myNSFAS” page by going to www.nsfas.org.za.
• Register for a myNSFAS account.
• Fill out the fields on the screen after selecting the “APPLY” tab.
• Upload any additional files that are required.
• Choose “Submit.”
