350 Unemployment Grant

Sassa 350 Unemployment Grant

The R350 Unemployment Grant was introduced in South Africa to provide financial assistance to unemployed citizens who are not receiving any other form of a social grant or unemployment insurance. If you meet the application qualifications, you can apply for the Unemployment Grant at your nearest Sassa office or through their online portal. The grant provides a monthly payment of R350, and it is usually paid out for a period of three months at a time. Applicants will need to reapply every three months to continue receiving the grant, as long as they still meet the eligibility criteria.

All active SRD R350 grant applications or reapplications made since April will automatically be considered for each month until March 2023. Existing applicants can update their responses to the screening questionnaire here, at any time, should their circumstances change or to correct errors.

Should your application be denied, you will have the right to appeal the SASSA decision by lodging an appeal with the Department of Social Development in the month your application was declined. The process to lodge an appeal will be provided with the notification that your application has been declined. Failure to request an appeal for each month that the application is declined will result in the original decision being sustained
