NSFAS Online: Login My Nsfas Status
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) application portal is made available for individuals who want to apply for loans from the organization to pay for their education at any public Tvet College or University in South Africa. NSFAS has currently opened an online portal for all interested students who are willing to accept financial assistance within the academic year to apply. Eligible Students must complete the NSFAS online application using the online application form portal in order to receive funds to assist with their tuition fee and cost of study. Who should not apply?
- Students that have completed a previous qualification.
- Students with a combined household income of more than R350 000 per annum.
- Students who have already applied, qualified and received funding. They are automatically funded for the duration of their studies provided they pass their modules and meet the academic requirements.
- Foreign students (any student who is not a South African citizen).
Documents needed to apply for NSFAS
Prepare certified copies of the following documents which must not be older than 3 months. Your documents must need to be certified at the South African Police Service or the South African Post Office. If you are under the age of 18 or if you are 18 and older and are STILL DEPENDENT on the combined household income of your parent or legal guardian, then this also applies:
- A valid copy of your South African ID or unabridged birth certificate. If you are younger than 16 years of age and do not have a green bar–coded ID or smart ID card, you must submit a certified copy of your unabridged birth certificate.
- IDs of parents and/or guardian (death certificate if applicable)
- IDs of each person living in your household
- Proof of annual household income of your parents or guardian or yourself if employed as a payslip or appointment letter (This is for all types of employment or all forms of income for all members of the household. This includes any income received from SASSA grants, Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), or any retirement, life, disability or other benefits paid as a lump sum or in monthly payments.)
- A certified copy of your latest academic transcript or exam results. (If you are currently in Grade 12, you do not need to submit this)
- University registration documents (if applicable)
- Travel and Accommodation documents (if applicable)
- Proof of marital status (if applicable)
- Download and complete the consent form and fill it in with the signatures of all people whose incomes have been declared in the application. Login My Nsfas Status

How to apply for NSFAS Applications
YOU CAN APPLY ONLINE VIA WWW.NSFAS.ORG.ZA USING A CELLPHONE, TABLET AND COMPUTER. FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS TO APPLY:
- Step 1: Go to www.nsfas.org.za and click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab.
- Step 2: Create a myNSFAS account
- Step 3: Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and complete the sections on the screen
- Step 4: Upload required supporting documents where applicable
- Step 5: Click on the ‘Submit’ button to complete the application process for review.
Please Note: NSFAAS application for 2023 must be completed and submitted online. Incomplete applications will not be processed and Nsfas will not be able to fund you. login my nsfas status
