How To Qualify For Funding Through NSFAS

The following requirements must be met by potential candidates:

• The first prerequisite is South African citizenship.
• Enrollment in a public university or TVET college is necessary as NSFAS does not fund private universities.
• You must have received an SASSA award.
• Candidates must have an annual household income of no more than R350 000 in order to be eligible.
• A disabled person must have a family income of no more than R600 000 per year to qualify. Candidates must have begun their studies prior to 2018 and have an annual household income of less than R122 000.
