Established in April 2005, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is a government-run national organization that manages social benefits on behalf of the Department of Social Development. The Type Of Sassa Grants Available For July 2023-2024

  • A child support grant;
  • An older people’s grant (a pension);
  • A disability grant;
  • A war veteran’s grant;
  • A care dependency grant, for caring for a child with a severe disability;
  • Foster child grant;
  • Grant-in-aid, for those who require a full-time caregiver; and/or

Sassa July 2023-2024 Application Requirements

If you are applying for Sassa grants in July 2024, you need to attach to your application the following documents:

  • ID document of the child
  • Proof of address
  • Proof of income and assets
  • ID document of caregiver
  • Latest medical information about the care-dependent child

Applicants will need to provide the following information;

  • Identity Number or Department of Home Affairs Refugee permit number
  • Name and Surname as captured in the Identity Document
  • Gender and Disability
  • Contact details – Cell phone number
