Registration Requirements
- Valid Student Number: Ensure you have a valid student number.
- Module List: Prepare the list of modules you plan to register for.
- Proof of Payment: Payment of the registration fee is necessary.
- Academic Records: If transitioning from another institution, provide relevant academic records.
Registration Process
- Create/Update myUnisa Account: New students must create an account while returning students should update their details.
- Select Qualifications and Modules: Choose your qualification and desired modules via the myUnisa portal.
- Payment of Fees: Pay the registration fees using electronic funds transfer, credit card, or at designated bank branches.
- Submit Documents: Upload additional required documents like academic transcripts or ID documentation.
- Confirmation: Await a confirmation email from UNISA.

How to register UNISA Online 2025
Undergraduate qualifications, honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas
Registration for the 2025 academic year for undergraduate qualifications, honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas to be open from 8 January to 21 February 2025 for semester modules and from 8 January to 31 March 2025 for year modules.
- Applicants (new applicants & Unisa students who applied for admission to a new qualification) may only register if they have received an offer of placement from Unisa and have accepted the offer online. Unisa reserves the right to not process and / or to cancel your registration if it is found that you were incorrectly admitted to a qualification.
- Re-registering students must register for the 2025 academic year during the relevant registration period.
- The university provides all registered students with a free myLife e-mail address. It is your responsibility to activate your myLife e-mail account as soon as your registration has been finalised. Your myLife e-mail account will be the only e-mail account recognised by Unisa for official correspondence to and from the university, and will remain the official primary e-mail address on record at Unisa.

Master’s & doctoral qualifications
Registration for master’s and doctoral qualifications for the 2025 academic year to be open from 8 January to 31 March 2025 (some exceptions apply).
