For the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) Application, online access is available. If you adhere to the directions on this page, you can apply for the NSFAS Bursary online. When Will NSFAS Accept Submissions
NSFAS applications for 2023 will be accepted from September 1 through September 28, 2022. Do not submit your application after the deadline.
Requirement For Applying Bursary
- Give your personal email address and phone number.
- A copy of your identification or birth certificate is required.
- copies of parents’, guardians’, or spouse’s national ID
- The proof of your income or, if necessary, one year’s IRP5
- a copy of your parent’s, guardian’s, or spouse’s income documentation
- You do not need to present any proof of income if you are a beneficiary of a SASSA award.
- A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form must be provided by all applicants with disabilities.
- A Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form must also be filled out and signed by an applicant who has been identified as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development.

If you want to apply for NSFAS 2022, take the following actions:
- You must go to the NSFAS website, which is located at www.nsfas.org.za.
- After that, you must select the “myNSFAS” tab.
- Following that, you open a myNSFAS account.
- Following the creation of your myNSFAS account, you must select the “Apply” tab.
- Please respond to the inquiries that appear on your screen.
- Update all of your personal data

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) welcomes the Department of Higher Education’s announcement that it will request the deletion of the National Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) debts of disadvantaged students’ credit bureau records.
The NYDA also exhorts young people to repay student loans if they can in order to preserve NSFAS money and allow it to provide academic support to more deserving students.
