Sassa Grants payment dates for 2025

South African nationals who qualify can get financial aid from SASSA (South African Social Security Agency) in the form of various grants. In order to support needy families and vulnerable individuals, SASSA award payments are normally distributed on a monthly basis. In order to properly organize their finances and create budgets, beneficiaries must be aware of the SASSA award payment dates.

Beneficiaries can receive their payments in a variety of ways, including bank transfers, cash payments at specified pay points, or through the South African Post Office, depending on the type of grant they are receiving. These dates may also vary depending on the type of grant. Children’s Grants: Tuesday, 7 January 2025

February 2025:

Older Persons Grant: Tuesday, 4 February 2025
Disability Grant: Wednesday, 5 February 2025
Children’s Grants: Thursday, 6 February 2025

March 2025:

Older Persons Grant: Tuesday, 4 March 2025
Disability Grant: Wednesday, 5 March 2025
Children’s Grants: Thursday, 6 March 2025

For the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, payments are typically processed in the last week of each month. For January 2025, SRD grant payments are scheduled between 25 January and 31 January 2025. Beneficiaries are advised to check their payment status on the official SASSA SRD website to confirm the exact date their funds will be available.

It’s important to note that SASSA grant amounts were increased in October 2024. The current grant amounts are:

Older Persons Grant: R2,190 (R2,210 for beneficiaries aged 75 and above)
Disability Grant: R2,190
War Veterans Grant: R2,210
Care Dependency Grant: R2,190
Foster Care Grant: R1,180
Child Support Grant: R530
Child Support Grant (Top-Up): R530 + R250
SRD Grant: R370

Beneficiaries are reminded that there is no need to withdraw funds immediately on the payment date, as the money will remain in their accounts until needed. Additionally, SASSA gold cards remain valid beyond December 2023, and payments can be accessed at various supermarkets or directly into bank accounts.
