How Do I Find Out My Bank Details at SASSA?
There are a few ways to find out your bank information if you get social grants from the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) and therefore are uncertain concerning them:
- Check your bank statements: If you receive your grant via a bank account, your bank statements will show the details of the account.
- Contact your bank: If you’re not sure which bank account your grant is paid into, you can contact your bank to find out.
- Visit a SASSA office: You can visit a SASSA office and speak to a customer service representative who will be able to provide you with your bank details.
- Call SASSA: You can call SASSA’s toll-free number at 0800 60 10 11 and provide them with your ID number to confirm your bank details.
It’s important to keep your bank details up to date with SASSA to avoid any delays or disruptions in receiving your grant payments.
How to submit banking details to SASSA
All the following are needed when submitting your application details using the SASSA SRD website:
- Access the SRD website at srd.sassa.gov.za.
- Scroll down to the “How do I change my banking details” section
- Enter your ID number
- An SMS / Text message containing the SASSA banking details link will be sent to the mobile phone number used when registering for the SRD application.
- Open the banking details link in the SMS and follow the instructions.
Please confirm that you are the account owner if you choose to have the money sent to a bank account. Your grant cannot be paid into another person’s bank account by SASSA.
Be certain the cellphone number on which you received the SMS is registered in your name if you choose the money transfer option through one of the main banks. If the registered mobile phone number belongs to someone else, SASSA will not pay your grant. Only once verification has been completed can new banking information be utilized for payments. Your SASSA status check is likely to return as unapproved if the website does not have the relevant banking information. SASSA Banking Details Link
