How Much Is SRD Grant Now?

How Much Is SRD Grant Now?: SRD Grant Increase 2023

The South African government offers the SRD (Social Relief of Distress) Award, a social assistance grant, to help unemployed and underprivileged people and households through difficult times. The SRD stipend had a monthly value of R350 (South African Rand).

The most recent information should be confirmed with the relevant authorities as government policies and grant amounts are subject to change. The SRD Grant is still worth R350 a month as far as I’m aware, but it’s a good idea to double-check with the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) or the Department of Social Development for the most recent details on grant amounts and eligibility requirements.

Some requirements must be fulfilled while applying for R350 Grand

You must fulfil the following criteria in order to be eligible for the COVID-19 social relief of distress (SRD) grant from the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), often known as the R350 grant:

  • Be a South African citizen, permanent resident, or refugee with a valid asylum seeker permit.
  • Be unemployed and not receiving any other form of income.
  • Be above the age of 18.
  • Have no source of income, no access to any other form of government funding or social grants, and not receiving any unemployment insurance benefits.
  • Not be a beneficiary of any other COVID-19 relief fund or a recipient of any other government-funded grant.
  • Have a valid South African ID document or card or be a refugee or asylum seeker with a valid permit.
  • Have a bank account or be willing to receive the payment through a cellphone number.
  • Provide proof of income, if requested.

It’s important to note that meeting the above requirements does not guarantee that you will be approved for the R350 grant. Your application will be assessed by SASSA, and if you are found to be eligible, you will receive payment according to the payment schedule.

How to Track your R350 Grand Application

If you have applied for the South African Social Security Agency’s (SASSA) R350 COVID-19 social relief of distress (SRD) grant and you want to track the status of your application, you can do so using the following steps:

  • Visit the SASSA website: Go to the SASSA website (www.sassa.gov.za) and click on the “SRD Application” tab.
  • Click on “Check Status”: Under the “SRD Application” tab, click on “Check Status” to access the application status page.
  • Enter your ID number: Enter your South African ID number and click “Submit.”
  • Check your application status: The system will show you the status of your R350 grant application. The status will either be “approved,” “rejected,” or “pending.”

In the event that your application is accepted, SASSA will notify you and provide details on how to make payment. In the event that your application is turned down, SASSA will explain why. You will have to wait for SASSA to consider and decide on your application if it is still pending. Please be patient and check your progress frequently as the processing of your application may take some time. srd grant increase 2023
