How To Activate sBux
- Receive SMS to welcome you to sBux
- Dial *134*176#
- Enter your ID number
- You are now verified on sBux
- Await an SMS from NSFAS with your password
- You will receive an SMS within 3 working days to inform you that the funds are available
VERIFY YOUR sBUX ACCOUNT
- Dial *134*176# (for free!) and it will ask you for your ID number.
- Enter ID number and wait 5 minutes.
- You will receive an SMS with your sBux password.
RECEIVE YOUR NSFAS ALLOWANCE
- You will receive your allowance within 48 working hours after receiving your password.
- You will receive an SMS from NSFAS once the allowance is available in your account.
ACCESS YOUR NSFAS ALLOWANCE
- After you receive an SMS confirming your allowance, dial *134*176# and enter your PASSWORD.
- You will see a cash balance on top. This is your wallet. You will now need to create a cash voucher.
CREATING NSFAS CASH VOUCHER
- Dial *134*176# and enter your PASSWORD and select SEND
- Select Option 1 to create a cash voucher and then SEND
- Enter AMOUNT and SEND.
How much is the monthly NSFAS Allowance
NSFAS allowances mostly range between the amount stated below
- Personal care costs – R2,900 monthly paid annually
- Hostel accommodation – R33,000 per year
- Transport allowance – R7,350 monthly paid annually
- Private residents – R25,200 paid monthly on an annual basis for accredited properties
- Annual NCV (Including PLP) – 10 payments per month
- R191 Trimester – 3 monthly payments during the Trimester
- R191 Semester – 5 monthly payments during the semester
How Much Do I Owe NSFAS
The payback amount rises to a maximum of 8% of your yearly earnings once it reaches R59,300 and above and begins at a fixed rate of 3% of your salary annually. So if your wage is R30,000 per year, you will repay R900, for example. The corresponding monthly amount is R75.
