After the successful submission of the Nsfas application for the 2024/2025 study year, the results of the application process will be communicated to all applicants once NSFAS received confirmation from the institution that an academic offer has been made to you. NSFAS will inform you of their decision before the start of the academic year and this will be done through SMS, email as well as your myNSFAS account. To apply for Nsfas in the year 2024/2025, applicants are to take note of the date. Applications will begin on the 28th of September, the online application will be open for applicants to submit their applications and the applications will be closing on the 31st of January.
How Long Does It Take To Hear From Nsfas After The 2024/2025 Application
- Within 3 to 6 weeks of submitting their application, each applicant should see a response in the status section of the Nsfas application.
However, occasionally more time may be needed due to background checks and verification processes.

- Login to your NSFAS account on the myNSFAS student portal
- Enter your username
- Enter your password
- Click sign in
- Click on ‘Track Funding Progress’
NB: If your application was approved, congrats! Try your luck again later if not. You may request an appeal application with the necessary information and supporting documents if the outcome of your NSFAS application was “unsuccessful.” 30 days after the “unsuccessful” status displays on your NSFAS portal dashboard, kindly submit your appeal.
