New Sassa Grants
New Sassa Grants: What SASSA grants are available?
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), in response to the financial hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, has created a number of new grants to help eligible South Africans in need. These grants are meant to address the pandemic’s effects on communities that are already at risk and to support individuals who are already struggling financially.
The Care Dependency Grant, which offers financial support to families or caregivers of children with severe disabilities, the Social Relief of Distress Grant, which offers temporary financial aid to people or families dealing with unforeseen circumstances, the Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant, and the R350 Special Covid-19 Grant, which offers temporary financial aid to people who have lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic, are just a few of the new SASSA grants.
These new grants are in addition to the social funds already offered by SASSA for children, foster care, older people, and people with disabilities. The SASSA seeks to advance the social and economic well-being of all South African citizens by providing easily accessible and effective social security services.
