Where To Apply For Teaching Courses NSFAS Bursary
You can apply for the Funza Lushaka Bursary, which is designed specifically for teaching programs if you require money for your PGCE.
However, the Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) and other Postgraduate Education programs are not funded by NSFAS (PGCE).

TVET College instruction programs such
- Education and
- Development National Certificate (Vocational),
- Educare and
- Early Childhood Development courses are also covered by NSFAS
NSFAS Allowances Given To Students
The following allowances are given to university students:
- Accommodation
- As per the actual costs charged by the university (costs for private accommodation must not exceed costs for university residence)
- Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7 500 per annum
- Living allowance R15, of 000 per annum
- Book allowances R5200 per annum
- Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per annum for students in catered residences
TVET College students receive the following allowances:
- Accommodation in an urban area R24,000 per annum
- Accommodation in a peri-urban area R18,900 per annum
- Accommodation in a rural area R15,750 per annum
- Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7,350 per annum
- Transport R7000 per annum
- Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per annum

How Do I Apply Online For Teaching NSFAS
Application for NSFAS Account Funding:
- Create an online account with myNSFAS, or update an existing one.
- Check out www.nsfas.org.za
- Go to the “myNSFAS” tab.
- Select “Register”
- Check the box to let NSFAS to validate your information.
- Then enter your ID number on the field as it is mentioned on your South African
- Identity Document (ID) (ID)
- Enter your full name and last name according to your ID number.
- Put your current email address here.
- Validate your email address.
- Enter your mobile phone number.
- Set up a password.
- Verify password
- upload a copy of your ID
- Select “Register”
- An OTP will be issued to the entered email and mobile number (this OTP expires after 24 hours)
- Enter the OTP and press “Submit”
