Do you need financial assistance to attend a higher education facility? Apply for a bursary through the NSFAS Portal. The application process and the NSFAS application forms are covered in more detail in this article. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) committee provides the NSFAS Application to prospective candidates for bursary applications. For students who are unable to obtain bank loans, study loans, or other types of financial aid because they lack the funds to pay for their education, NSFAS is a bursary program. It has the Department of Higher Education and Training’s endorsement. The application procedure is described in greater detail below;
How Can I Apply For A NSFAS Scholarship
Create a brand-new myNSFAS account or modify an existing one.
- www.nsfas.org.za has a long page.
- Click the “myNSFAS” tab to open it.
- Select “Register.”
- Check the appropriate box to give NSFAS permission to verify your information.
- Please enter your ID number exactly as it appears on your South African Identity Document in the form (ID)
- Your full name and last name should be entered using your ID number as a guide.
- Enter the email address you are using right now.
- Check your email’s accuracy.
- Input your mobile phone number.
- select a password.

- the photo of your ID, please
- Select “Register.”
- An OTP will be sent to the entered mobile phone number and email address (this OTP expires after 24 hours)
- Type the OTP in and click “Submit.”
- You have now finished the re-registration process.
- Click the APPLY tab to be directed to the online application form.
Who Can Receive NSFAS Funding
- be a South African citizen;
- The combined annual income of your household is less than R350 000;
- You were awarded a grant by SASSA;
- You are enrolling in a report 191 or National Certificate Vocational program at a TVET institution, or you are registering for your first undergraduate degree at a public university;
- You want to enroll in a public university or TVET college to pursue a degree;
- You already registered for college, and the annual income of your household is less than R122 000;
- You have completed Grades 9 and 10 in order to qualify for NSFAS funding to attend a TVET college; you have completed Grade 12 in order to qualify for NSFAS funding to attend a university.

NSFAS Bursaries Coverage
NSFAS scholarships at colleges and universities reimburse these expenses.
- Amounts indicated of accommodation,

- learning materials need to be aligned with the approved latest DHET guidelines.
UNIVERSITY
- Accommodation
- As per the actual costs charged by the university (costs for private accommodation must not exceed costs for university residence)
- Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7 500 per annum
- Living allowance R15, of 000 per annum
- Book allowances R5200 per annum
- Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per annum for students in catered residences
TVET
- Accommodation in an urban area R24,000 per annum
- Accommodation in a peri-urban area R18,900 per annum
- Accommodation in a rural area R15,750 per annum
- Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7,350 per annum
- Transport R7000 per annum
- Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per annum
