NSFAS Criteria 2024/2025
You may qualify for an NSFAS bursary if you are a citizen of South Africa, want to enroll in school in 2024, or are currently enrolled in a public university or TVET college and meet the requirements mentioned below.

- Your household’s total annual income is less than R350 000;
- SASSA presented you with a grant;
- you are enrolled in a report 191 or National Certificate Vocational program at a TVET institution, or you are applying to a public university to start your first undergraduate degree;
- You want to enroll in a public university or TVET college to pursue a degree;
- Your home earns less than R122 000 annually, and you’ve already applied to colleges;
- You must have completed Grades 9 and 10 to be eligible for NSFAS financing for a TVET college, and Grade 12

How do I apply online for NSFAS
- requesting funding for an NSFAS account:
- Make changes to an existing myNSFAS account or create a new one.
- Take a look at www.nsfas.org.za.
- To access it, click the “myNSFAS” tab.
- Choosing “Register.”
- Give NSFAS permission to validate your information by checking the relevant box.
- Please fill out the form with your South African Identity Document’s ID number precisely as it appears on the document (ID)
- Your ID number should be used as a guide when entering your full name and last name.

- Input your mobile phone number.

- Accommodation

Who Can Receive NSFAS Funding
To qualify for bursaries, applicants must adhere to four fundamental standards;

- A disabled person: The total annual household income cannot exceed R600,000.
- Students whose home income is not more than R122 000 annually who began their studies prior to 2023.
