Who Can Apply For NSFAS Funding At UFS
Only some applicants are qualified for NSFAS funding:
- You must be a resident of South Africa.
- applicants who sought admission to UFS for the 2024 academic year to pursue their first undergraduate degree.
- Students from UFS who received NSFAS money in 2023 but did not enroll in classes during that academic year
- Able-bodied people must have an annual household income of R350 000 or less.
- The household income of people with disabilities must be R600 000 or less annually.
- The SASSA grant beneficiaries are immediately eligible for financing, and there is no age restriction for the bursary.
Who Cant Apply For NSFAS Funding At UFS
- overseas student (NOT a South African citizen)
- The total annual household income exceeds R350 000.
- students who have previously sought and been awarded scholarships. In the event that students pass their modules and fulfill the academic requirements, they are immediately financed for the remainder of their studies.
- Unless they apply for a financed post-graduate qualification that has been granted, students who have already completed a previous qualification.
UFS NSFAS Application 2023 Requirements
- Your email address and phone number of yours.
- a copy of your birth certificate or ID.
- ID copies for your spouse, parents, or guardian.
- Your income verification (if applicable).
- Your spouse’s, parents’, or guardians’ proof of income.
- You won’t need to provide proof of income if you are an SASSA grant recipient.
A completed and signed copy of the Disability Annexure A Form must be submitted by applicants with disabilities.
An applicant who has been classified as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development must present a Vulnerable Child Declaration Form that has been filled out and signed.
