Opening Date for NSFAS Online Applications in 2023
NSFAS 2023 online applications must be submitted by September 28, 2023.
UJ Deadline for NSFAS Online Applications
Please be advised that the NSFAS 2023 application deadline has been extended to Friday, January 21, 2024. On Friday, January 7, 2024, the previous deadline was reached.
Appeals for NSFAS at UJ
The appeals for the academic year 2022 are presently being completed by NSFAS. As of right present, 43 051 appeals totaling 15 815 from all universities have been granted. The following issues, according to NSFAS, were to blame for the delays in the distribution of the appeal results:
- Submission of the propensity letters was delayed
- Insufficient supporting documentation
- fictitious or incomplete propensity letters
- Mistakes in the NSFAS system that affect the funding status
Faculty and students are collaborating with UJ to complete the outstanding paperwork for appeals. Students will be informed right away of the appeal’s result via the UJ website.
NSFAS student allowances at UJ
Each student whose financial aid was verified by NSFAS is receiving a stipend. Students must complete the relevant consent forms on uLink and upload the requisite paperwork in order to load the housing allowance. 23 114 students have finished the process as of the time of writing and were receiving payment.
How Do I Apply For NSFAS Online
NSFAS Account Funding Application:
Create a new myNSFAS account or make changes to an existing one.
- Observe www.nsfas.org.za.
- Activate the “myNSFAS” tab.
- Select “Register”
- Check the box to let NSFAS to validate your information.
- then type your ID number as it appears on your South African Identity Document in the form (ID)
- Enter your full name and last name according to your ID number.
- Put your current email address here.
- Validate your email address.
- Enter your mobile phone number.
- Set up a password.
- Verify password
- upload a copy of your ID
- Select “Register”
- An OTP will be issued to the entered email and mobile number (this OTP expires after 24 hours)
- Enter the OTP and press “Submit”
- You have now completed your re-registration
- Click the APPLY tab to be directed to the online application form.
