Who Can Receive Funding From NSFAS
To be eligible for bursaries, applicants must adhere to four standards in particular;
- everyone in South Africa
- All SASSA grant recipients must be funding candidates with a combined annual household income of less than R350 000.

- students who started their education before 2023 and whose home income is under R122,000 annually.
NSFAS Fund for TVET Colleges
- R24,000 per year for housing in a city
- The cost of housing in a peri-urban location each year is R18,900.
- The cost of lodging in a rural area each year is R15,750.
- Transport (up to 40 kilometers from the institution) (up to 40 km from the institution) R7,350 annually
- Transport R7,000 annually
- R2900 is the annual incidental/personal care stipend.

How Do I Submit A TVET College NSFAS Grant Application
NSFAS Account Funding Application:
- Submission of an NSFAS Account Funding Request:
- Create a new account on myNSFAS or make changes to an existing one.
- Today, go to www.nsfas.org.za.
- Choose the “myNSFAS” tab.
- choose “Register”
- To allow NSFAS to authenticate your information, please tick this box.
- then enter your ID into the box exactly as it appears on your South African Identity Document (ID)
- In accordance with your ID number, please enter your full first and last name.
- Your current email address should be entered in this field.
- This will validate your email address.
- Enter your mobile phone number.
- Establish a password.
- double-check your password
- including a picture of your ID.
- select “Register”
- An OTP that will expire after 24 hours will be issued to the provided email and mobile number.
- Once the OTP has been entered, click “Submit.”
- Your preliminary registration is now finished.
- The procedure for re-registering is now complete.
- To be taken to the online application form, click the APPLY tab.
Documents Needed for NSFAS Applications
a verified copy of your birth certificate or South African ID. You must present a certified copy of your unabridged birth certificate if you are under 16 years old and do not have a green bar-coded ID or smart ID card.
- IDs for the guardians or parents (death certificate)

- IDs for every resident of your home
- an official copy of your most recent test results or transcript. (If you are currently enrolled in Grade 12, you are exempt from submitting this.)
- records from the registrar of the university (if applicable)
- paperwork for lodging and trip (if applicable)
- Download the consent form, fill it out, and get the signatures of all applicants with disclosed income.
- Download and complete the Disability Annexure A Form if you have a disability.
