R350 Unemployment Grant Application
R350 Unemployment Grant Application
The SASSA Unemployment Grant of R350 was an important source of financial support for many unemployed individuals during a time of great economic hardship in South Africa. The Sassa Unemployment Grant of R350 was a temporary social relief of distress grant introduced by the South African government in May 2020 to assist unemployed individuals who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The grant was aimed at providing temporary relief to individuals who were not receiving any other form of financial support, such as unemployment insurance or social grants. The grant was initially intended to be paid for a period of 6 months but was extended several times and the last payment was made in April.
The grant was subject to certain eligibility criteria and application procedures, including the requirement that applicants should be South African citizens or permanent residents, not receive any other form of income support, and not be registered for UIF (Unemployment Insurance Fund) benefits.
To qualify for the Sassa Unemployment Grant of R350, an individual must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicant must be a South African citizen, permanent resident, or refugee with a valid permit.
- Applicant must be unemployed and not receiving any form of income or government funding such as UIF or NSFAS.
- Applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 60.
- Applicant must not be receiving any other form of a social grant or benefit from the government.
- Applicant must not be a student or registered for any educational or training program.
- Applicant must not be living in a government-funded institution or care facility.
- Applicant must have a valid ID or refugee permit.
It’s very important to note that these eligibility criteria may have changed over time, and individuals should check with SASSA for the most up-to-date information on the grant requirements. Additionally, the grant was initially intended to be a temporary relief measure and may no longer be available.
