• Old age grant: R1,970
• Disability grant: R1,970
• War veterans grant: R1,970
• Child support grant: R500 per child per month (up to a maximum of two children)
• Foster child grant: R1,100 per child per month
• Care dependency grant: R1,970

Who Is Qualified For Sassa Government Grant Application

In order to qualify for a SASSA government grant in South Africa, an individual must meet certain eligibility requirements. The specific requirements vary depending on the type of grant the individual is applying for, but in general, the following criteria apply:

Old age grant:

• The applicant must be 60 years or older and not have any other means of support.

Disability grant:

• The applicant must be between 18 and 59 years old, have a permanent disability that prevents them from working, and not have any other means of support.

War veterans grant:

• The applicant must be a military veteran who fought for South Africa in a specific war or conflict and meet other qualifying criteria.

Child support grant:
