The Sassa R350 grant is now available to South African citizens, asylum seekers, and legal residents who are struggling financially as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak and other national calamities. Before the application deadline is March 2023, applicants are advised to submit their applications.
Applicants for the Sassa R350 award are informed that no documents must be uploaded and that all personal data will be delivered online.
Applicants must ensure that Sassa has their mobile number in order for Sassa to call them and tell them of the outcome of their application (cell phone number).
If SASSA were to reject your application, you would have one month from the date of SASSA’s rejection to file an appeal with the Department of Social Development. You will be informed of the procedure for filing an appeal when your application is denied.  The preliminary ruling will stand each month that the application is denied without a request for an appeal.
The SRD 350 Grant is intended for South African citizens, refugees, asylum seekers, and special permit holders who are between the ages of 18 and 60 have insufficient means, are not eligible for or do not contribute to UIF payment, are not receiving social grants on their own behalf, and have no other financial support. The Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD Grant) is implemented with the Minister of Finance’s approval and is administered in accordance with section 32 of the Social Assistance Act, 2004 (Act No. 13 of 2004).

Srd 350 Sassa’s online application begins in February and the application deadline is on the 30th of March 2023. Failure to submit your application on time will automatically deny you the grant.

Who Is Qualified For Sassa Online Application 2024 R350

The following are the persons who qualify to receive the Sassa R350 grant;

  • You must be a South African Citizen
  • You must be a Refugee in South Africa
  • You must be an Asylum Seeker in South Africa
  • You must be a Special Permit Holder in South Africa
  • You must be between 18 and 60 years old
  • You must meet the means test, with an income of R624 or less per month
  • You must be unemployed and NOT be receiving financial support from any other source
  • You must have insufficient financial means to support yourself
  • You must NOT be receiving any other social grants
  • You must NOT be contributing towards or eligible for UIF payment
  • You must NOT be receiving a stipend from NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme)

Types Of Sassa R350 Grant In 2024/2025

The grants are:

  • Older person’s grant (old age pension)
  • Child support grant
  • Care dependency grant
  • Grant in aid (if you live on a social grant but need someone to take care of you)
  • War veteran’s grant
  • Foster child grant
  • Disability grant

Applicants or their proxy will need to confirm or provide the below information to enable SASSA to consider their application:

  • You must reside in South Africa
  • You must meet any 1 of these criteria:
  • You must be a South African Citizen
  • You must be a Refugee in South Africa
