Unforeseen circumstances and tragedies render many homeless, and lost jobs and also deny many from gaining the financial means to cater for themselves and family. In other to bring temporal assistance to those who fall victim to such situations in South Africa, the SA government has introduced the Sassa Srd 350 grant, a monthly grant given to the affected persons so they can meet a day’s meat for a period of six months.

The application for the Sassa R350 grant is currently open for South African Citizens, Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Special Permit Holders who are between the ages of 18 and 60 years, who have insufficient means, who do not receive social grants on behalf of themselves or who are not contributing to or eligible for UIF payment and have no financial support from any other source. Applicants are urged to begin their application as early as possible before the application deadline.

Sassa Social Relief of Distress may be in the form of a food parcel or a voucher to buy food. Some provinces give this assistance in the form of cash. Social Relief of Distress is given for a short time only usually for up to three months, which may be extended for another three months.

The Sassa R350 grant is distributed in the early days of every month. All active R350 grant applications or reapplications made since April 2022 will automatically be considered for each month until March 2023.

 Who Is Eligible For Sassa Srd 350 Application 2024/2025

The following are the peoples who qualify to receive Sassa Srd 350 grants;

• You must be a South African Citizen
• You must be a Refugee in South Africa
• You must be an Asylum Seeker in South Africa
• You must be a Special Permit Holder in South Africa
• You must be between 18 and 60 years old
• You must meet the means test, with an income of R624 or less per month
• You must be unemployed and NOT be receiving financial support from any other source
• It would help if you had insufficient financial means to support yourself
• You must NOT be receiving any other social grants
• You must NOT be contributing towards or eligible for UIF payment
• You must NOT be receiving a stipend from NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme)
