SRD Application Grant
SRD Application Grant: Sassa Status Check
The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant is a monthly payment of R350 and is currently available to South African citizens, permanent residents, and refugees who are experiencing financial distress due to COVID-19 and are unemployed without any other form of income support. Those who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the SRD grant either online via the SASSA website or in person at a local SASSA office.
The application process requires applicants to submit certain documentation, such as a valid ID or passport, proof of income, and proof of residence. Applications are evaluated by SASSA, and if successful, the grant will be provided for three months. Recipients who remain eligible can reapply for the grant once the initial three-month period ends.
