Srd 350 Grant Application 2024/2025
The SRD Grant (Social Relief of Distress Grant) is designed for South African citizens, refugees, asylum seekers, and special permit holders who are between the ages of 18 and 60, who have insufficient means, who are not eligible for or do not contribute to UIF payment, who are not receiving social grants on their own behalf and have no other financial support. The Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD Grant) is implemented with the Minister of Finance’s approval and is administered in accordance with section 32 of the Social Assistance Act, 2004 (Act No. 13 of 2004).
SRD grant applications must be submitted by March 30, 2023, to be considered.
SRD grant applicants are advised that personal information will be provided electronically and there is no requirement to upload any supporting documentation. In order for SASSA to be able to contact applicants and update them on the status of their application, applicants must make sure that SASSA has their mobile number (cell phone number). Also, the official website of the Srd grant allows you to check the status of your application.
Should your application be denied, you will have the right to appeal the Srd grants decision by lodging an appeal with the Department of Social Development in the month your application was declined. The process to lodge an appeal will be provided with the notification that your application has been declined. Failure to request an appeal for each month that the application is declined will result in the original decision being sustained.
