Who Can Receive NSFAS Funding At College

Applicants must follow four essential requirements in order to be eligible for bursaries;

• every South African national
• All winners of SASSA grants are eligible for funding
• applicants whose annual household combined income does not exceed R350 000
• A disabled person: The total annual household income cannot exceed R600,000.
• students whose household income is not more than R122 000 annually and who began their studies before 2023.

TVET Colleges NSFAS Fund

• Accommodation in an urban area is R24,000 per annum
• Accommodation in a peri-urban area is R18,900 per annum
• Accommodation in a rural area is R15,750 per annum
• Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7,350 per annum
• Transport R7000 per annum
• Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per annum

How Can I Apply For NSFAS Fund At College

NSFAS Account Funding Application:

• Submission of an NSFAS Account Funding Request:
• Create a new account on myNSFAS or make changes to an existing one.
• Please visit www.nsfas.org.za.
• Select the “myNSFAS” tab.
• Choosing “Register”
• To allow NSFAS to validate your information, check this box.
• then enter your ID in the box exactly as it appears on your South African Identity Document (ID)
• In accordance with your ID number, enter your full name and last name.
• Enter your current email address in this field.
• Please verify your email address.
• Enter the number for your cell phone.
• Create a password.
• ensure your password
• attach a photo of your ID
• Choosing “Register”
• To the provided email and mobile number will be sent an OTP, which will expire after 24 hours.
• Press “Submit” after entering the OTP.
• Your pre-registration is now complete.
• You have now finished the re-registration process.
• Click the APPLY tab to be directed to the online application form.

Required Documents For NSFAS Applications

• a certified copy of your South African ID or birth certificate. You must show a certified copy of your unabridged birth certificate if you are under 16 years old and do not have a green bar-coded ID or smart ID card.
• IDs for the parents or guardians (death certificate)
• IDs for the parents or guardians (death certificate if applicable)
• IDs for each person living in your house
• a certified copy of your most recent transcript or test results. (If you’re currently in Grade 12, you don’t have to turn this in.)
• records from the university’s registrar (if applicable)
• travel and lodging documentation (if applicable)
• Download the consent form, complete it, and have each applicant who has declared income sign it.
• If you have a disability, download and complete the Disability Annexure A Form.
