New And Returning Students At UJ Who Are On The NSFAS Funded List

In February 2024, the results of the NSFAS student grants were formally announced. 25 842 UJ students have been awarded authorization by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) to register for the current academic year as of today, Friday, June 24, 2024. 23 559 of these pupils have signed up as of this writing.

How To Appeal For NSFAS At UJ

NSFAS is currently finishing up the appeals for the academic year 2022. As of right now, 43 051 appeal requests from all colleges totaling 15 815 have been approved. NSFAS attributed the delays in the delivery of the appeal results to the following problems:

• The propensity letters’ late submission
• Insufficient backing is provided
• false or erroneous propensity letters
• errors that affect the financing status in the NSFAS system
• UJ is working with academic institutions and students to complete the unfinished paperwork for appeals. The outcome of the appeal will be immediately communicated to students via the UJ website.

NSFAS allowances At UJ

Each student whose financial aid was verified by NSFAS is receiving a stipend. Students must complete the relevant consent forms on uLink and upload the requisite paperwork in order to load the housing allowance. 23 114 students have finished the process as of the time of writing and were receiving payment.

How do I apply for NSFAS UJ 2024

Application for NSFAS Account Funding:

• Create an online account with myNSFAS, or update an existing one.
• Check out www.nsfas.org.za
• Go to the “myNSFAS” tab.
• Select “Register”
• Check the box to let NSFAS to validate your information.
• then type your ID number as it appears on your South African Identity Document in the form (ID)
• Enter your full name and last name according to your ID number.
• Put your current email address here.
• Validate your email address.
• Enter your mobile phone number.
• Set up a password.
• Verify password
• upload a copy of your ID
• Select “Register”
• An OTP will be issued to the entered email and mobile number (this OTP expires after 24 hours)
• Enter the OTP and press “Submit”
• You have now completed your re-registration
• Click the APPLY tab to be directed to the online application form.
