My Nsfas Account  Password Recovery

Your username, password, and phone number are the three things that every candidate for the Nsfas scheme must have since they serve as the account’s security if you have an account with Nsfas and are a registered candidate for the scheme. Your account will be locked if you accidentally enter the wrong password three times in a row.  If your account is locked, you are unable to access any Nsfas data.  Students who have forgotten their NSFAS passwords can relax because a step-by-step tutorial is provided in this article.

Do you wish to study or are already studying at a public university or TVET college and come from a family with an income of R350 000 or less, then apply for Nsfas. NSFAS is a government entity under the Department of Higher Education and Training established according to the NSFAS Act (Act 56 of 1999) to provide financial support to disadvantaged students who wish to further their studies at public universities or TVET colleges.

When To Apply For Nsfas 2024/2025

Students who are currently enrolled in any of the public colleges and universities in South Africa and are in need of financial assistance are to begin their applications on the 28th of September and the application will be closing on the 31st of January 2023.

Who Is Qualified For Nsfas 2024/2025

Do you want to apply for Nsfas, see the list below if you are qualified:

• All South African citizens
• All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
• Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
• A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
• Students who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.

How To Create MyNsfas Account

Kindly register online as a user on myNSFAS or register a myNSFAS account

• Go to www.nsfas.org.za
• Click on the “myNSFAS” tab
• Click on “Register“
• Tick the box to allow NSFAS to verify your details
• Then enter your ID number on the field as it is stated on your South African Identity Document (ID)
• Type in your full name and surname as per your ID number
• Type in your current email address
• Confirm your email address
• Type in your cellphone number
• Create a password
• Confirm password
• Upload your ID Copy
• Click on register
• An OTP will be sent to the email and cell number provided (this OTP expires after 24 hours)
• Type in the OTP and click submit
• You have now completed your re-registration
• Please click on the APPLY tab to be directed to the online application form.

My Nsfas Account Recovery Process

Follow the process below to reset your forgotten Nsfas password:

• Go to www.nsfas.org.za
• Click on myNSFAS
• Select ‘forgot password
• Type in your ID number and choose what you need help with: password or username or both
• Click ‘submit’
• The username and the link to change your password will be sent via SMS and email
• Open the link so that you can be taken to the reset password page
• Reset your password by following the prompts on your screen
