Who Can Submit A NSFAS Application To UFS

Only a select few candidates are eligible for NSFAS funding:

You have to live in South Africa.
individuals who wanted to pursue their first undergraduate degree and applied to UFS for admission for the 2024 academic year.
UFS students who received NSFAS funding in 2023 but did not enroll in classes for that academic year
The annual household income of able-bodied individuals must be R350 000 or less.
People with disabilities must have an annual household income of R600 000 or less.
The recipients of the SASSA grants are immediately eligible for funding, and the bursary has no age limit.

students who have previously sought and been awarded scholarships. In the event that students pass their modules and fulfill the academic requirements, they are immediately financed for the remainder of their studies.
Unless they apply for a financed post-graduate qualification that has been granted, students who have already completed a previous qualification.

a copy of your birth certificate or ID.
ID copies for your spouse, parents, or guardian.
Your income verification (if applicable).
Your spouse’s, parent’s, or guardians’ proof of income.
You won’t need to provide proof of income if you are a SASSA grant recipient.
A completed and signed copy of the Disability Annexure A Form must be submitted by applicants with disabilities.

A completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration Form must be submitted by an applicant who has been identified by the Department of Social Development as a Vulnerable Child.
