Creating an NSFAS Profile in 2023
The following things must be on hand in order to create a MyNsfas account:

- an actual mobile number (e.g 076 482 1064)
- Active Gmail or email address
- ID copy ( preferable in PDF form)
You can open a Gmail account here if you don’t already have one: As soon as possible, open a Gmail account. Don’t forget to write down your password and login details somewhere safe in case you need them later.
If you wish to change the password for your NSFAS profile, you’ll need to log into your Gmail account. You will receive critical information from NSFAS via Gmail, such as application status outcomes.
Simple Instructions for Making Your NSFAS Profile
The steps outlined below can be used to create your MyNSFAS profile.
- Check out the NSFAS Page at https://www.nsfas.org.za
- open the myNSFAS tab.
- Choose Register.
- Check the box to allow NSFAS to confirm your information.
- Next, note the ID number as it appears on your ID document.
- As indicated by your ID number, enter your entire name and last name.
- Your current email address should be entered.
- Verify the email address you used.
- Enter your cellphone number here.
- Establish a password.
- Retype the password
- ID copy to upload
- Choose Register.
- The entered email address and mobile number will receive OTP (this OTP expires after 24 hours)
- Enter the OTP here, then hit “submit.”
- Your pre-registration is now complete.
- Go to COMPLETE REGISTRATION on the sign-in tab to continue with activating your profile. To apply, click the button below.
How can I access My Nsfas Account Profile

- Visit www.nsfas.org.za to see your MyNSFAS account information.
- the “myNsfas account” link.
- Username and password entered
- Select “My personal details” from the menu.
Your email address and/or phone number should reflect the most recent information.
You must upload a copy of your ID in order to complete registration. If you have a valid ID card, make sure to send a copy that shows both sides.
How Should Your NBA or SOP Be signed
- Visit this website at: http://www.nsfas.org.za/content/nba.html
- The NSFAS Bursary Agreement form must be signed by students receiving NSFAS funding for the first time.
- A link to sign electronically will be sent to your email; click the link to continue.
- You will receive a One Time Pin (OTP) to your registered cell phone number through SMS after entering your ID number.
- To proceed with signing the contract, enter the received OTP.
